Situation
Under the hospices of Fonkoze, Opportunity International Deutschland and BMZ, severe poverty, extreme food insecurity, and limited access to healthcare/water have been observed in southeast Haiti. However, before any concrete action could be undertaken, there was a realistic and rational need evaluating feasibility of uplifting 225 ultra-poor families in Savanette through Fonkoze's CLM graduation project co-funded by BMZ/OID.
Solution
FIFE conducted a study through a Mixed-methods research incorporating desk reviews, household surveys (300 respondents in 10 communities), and KIIs.
Objectives
- 1 Evaluate feasibility of uplifting 225 ultra-poor families in Savanette through Fonkoze's CLM graduation project co-funded by BMZ/OID.
Outcomes
- Validated project viability; recommended maintaining weekly cash allowances, piloting mobile money, and strengthening VSLAs.
