Situation
In Lusaka, Northern, and Luapula Provinces, Zambia, were observed manpower shortages in commercial aquaculture, weak training curricula, and poor market linkages for smallholder fish farmers. In order to evaluate a 3.5-year Norad-funded project aimed at upgrading NRDC TEVET curricula and eventually expand commercial fish farming skills, Worldfish needed a technical assistance to achieve this goal.
Solution
FIFE provided the needed technical support through conducting a Mixed-methods evaluation (KIIs, FGDs, surveys across NRDC students and smallholders) utilizing OECD-DAC criteria.
Objectives
- 1 Evaluate 3.5-year Norad-funded project aimed at upgrading NRDC TEVET curricula.
- 2 Expanding commercial fish farming skills.
Outcomes
- Confirmed successful curriculum upgrading.
- Increased female student enrolment.
- Enhanced private sector linkages.
- Recommended 5-year project horizons.
