Situation
It was observed that, in Germany, there is lack of empirical data on why theology graduates do or do not enter pastoral ministry or leave ministry after a few years.
Solution
In order to find a solution FIFE offered technical support through a 2-segment research design: The first segment consists in institutional data query on enrolment and graduation while the second segment features a quantitative online survey of former theology students.
Objectives
- 1 Establish empirical data on matriculation rates.
- 2 Establish empirical data on pastoral entry rates.
- 3 Establish empirical data on career choices among theology alumni.
Outcomes
- Empirical evidence base to inform church leadership and theological training institutions.
