Salesians of Don Bosco of Nigeria (SDB) has been present in Nigeria since 1982. Ever since, the organisation has successfully undertaken and implemented numerous activities and projects, including Technical and Vocation Education and Training (TVET) for young people, child protection, health, agriculture and the provision of safe drinking water. The SDB proposed a project to establish a St. John Bosco Institute of Technology (JOBITECH) in Kubwa, Abuja, Nigeria. The project sought to train youth in skills acquisition to make them employable and self-sufficient. In other to examine the feasibility of the project, Fife assessed the multiple factors and contributions to interrelated causal chains of expected project results. FIFE employed a mixed methodology approach combining qualitative methods (focus group discussion, key informant interviews and observation) with quantitative (household and artisans surveys) for data collection. Overall, FIFE found that the project’s objectives are perfectly aligned with the needs of the people in Kubwa.
